About us
The Academic Staff Development Unit (ASDU) aims to support learning and teaching at CQU by offering staff training and development. In all our activities our aim is to be:
- Responsive - to the needs of CQU, it's faculties and individuals
- Enabling - by supporting autonomy through design and training
- Innovative - where innovation is appropriate and sustainable
- Professional - in our approach and our products.
Services on offer
- Staff development and training
We will facilitate and present seminars, workshops, individual counselling and major events focussed on learning and teaching, using either local presenters or external experts as appropriate. Staff development activities may be requested by groups or individuals to meet identified needs
Other areas of support
- Blackboard support
Support for staff teaching e-courses with Blackboard includes individual training, provision of training materials, and assistance in designing your online course and developing web pages, etc., for the course.
- Multimedia design and development
Specialised multimedia materials can be designed and developed to support specific learning and teaching situations These may include CD-ROM, media streaming and online delivery.
- Video production
Professional video production staff will help to produce quality video and mediastreaming products for teaching or other purposes.
Multimedia and Video services can be requested using the online request form. Blackboard support can be requested though Helpdesk
Cost
ASDU services are provided to support teaching at CQU. Assistance for DEST courses is provided at no cost, while other CQU work is charged at cost recovery.
The unit may need to prioritise requests to work within current resources.
